I was a teacher for the JET program for the 2006-2007 school year and that is where most of my videos are from. Presently I am much busier as a salaryman living in Osaka.

I am sincerely impressed with the level of motivation and determination to be successful while living in Japan.
As a fellow Coloradan myself, I can understand the need for culture and on a personal level, the need to move and become a part of a society like Japan is a dream I strive to see come true someday.

You have my respect and support, thank you for sharing your journey!

No problem. LOL! After I finished watching all your videos, I noticed they were all answered. :P Atleast this means your videos were well done and apparently well planned. LOL! Post some more videos to give me something to do apart from studying Japanese. :)

Well thank you for the help. I hope you have fun in Japan and I hope the JET Program does well for you.

@Whitematrix2006

The JET program can be a bit random to get into. Overall about 1 in 4 to 1 in 6 people make it in depending on the year.

It took me 3 attempts to get into the program (3 years of an over-long application process). The first year I was made an Alternate which means if they need extra people they would upgrade me. I was the next person to be upgraded from my consulate for about a month and a half before they stopped upgrading.

The second year... I did not even make it to the interview. This was with a more polished application than I had the first year.

The third year I was short-listed and I got my first preference of placement choice. It has a bit of randomness to it as far as getting to the interview. But I wish you luck. I will be in Japan precisely 2 months from now in Tokyo, on the JET program. (My placement is in Shiga, but I won't be there for about 2 months and 3 more days)

Sorry about double posting, accidentally posted before I was ready. Continuing from before. After 1 more year of studying the language at my university in the USA, I will be heading to Japan for a full semester (4 1/2 months). After college, I plan on getting into the JET Program so I can atleast move to Japan and then decide from there what I want to do after I'm out of the program. How hard was it getting into the program? Sorry for all the questions. I haven't exactly had someone who was in the JET Program I could ask these questions to.
