These videos are first class. It is just like having your class teacher in front of you . . . without other ex-pats talking amongst themselves and rambling off on red herring after red herring ( know what I mean? ) The instruction is logical, clear, and concise. The woman's melifluous and feminine voice-over is crystal clear and one can easily identify the various intonations as she pronounces each word / syllable. I tried to learn Mandarin from a book and it was hopeless. I was pronouncing words the locals were unable to recognise.These videos are brilliant. I return to Shanghai in a few weeks and greatly look forward to my friends and acquaintances praising my ability to make myself understood. AT LAST!
